Adding a Return Reason

Squirrel Cloud allows the selection of predefined reasons when returning an item at POS.

Return reasons do not print or display at POS.

  1. Navigate to Advanced Setup > Reasons > Return Reasons.
  2. Click Add Return Reason.
  3. (Optional) Enable the Is Open field. When this field is enabled, users enter a reason for the return manually.
  4. In the Reason field, do one of the following:
    • If the Is Open field is enabled, enter a name that reflects the requirement for manual reason entry (e.g. "Other" or "Manual").
    • If the Is Open field is disabled, enter a descriptive reason for the return1.
  5. Click Save Return Reason.

1 Returns are typically for items that have been delivered to the customer and then returned to inventory. Return reasons should reflect such cases (e.g. "no longer wanted" or "missing parts") rather than reasons that would be more applicable to QSAs or voids.
